Sit poolside while you eat a delectable meal at Rum Shack, located in Barrio Puntas. This cute outdoor dining establishment, part of the Lazy Parrot Inn and Mini Resort, has a laid back style that makes you feel welcomed and comfortable from the moment you arrive. It’s the kind of place you can go when you just want to relax and unwind. Rum shack is a casual, family style restaurant with a highly diverse menu sure to please even the pickiest of pallets. The service was accommodating and professional which always scores a lot of points with me and of course, the food was delicious!

They serve everything from hamburgers, chicken wings with Guava barbeque sauce and pulled pork sandwiches to Mahi Mahi tacos, calamari and steamed mussels.

I had their grilled chicken sandwich with lettuce, tomato, Swiss cheese, guacamole and French fries on the side. Mom had their house salad with grilled Mahi Mahi and their homemade balsamic vinaigrette. Both were excellent and I found the guacamole to be a perfect addition to the sandwich. Equally as tasty was Rum Shack’s homemade fruit punch! On a previous trip to Rum Shack I had their house cocktail called the Rum Shackle made with their fresh fruit punch, rum and other ingredients that make this drink a perfect 10!

For a quick and tasty meal with a tropical flare, my vote goes to Rum Shack! So go check them out and while your there ask your server to “Rum Shackle” you and as always, “tell them El Coqui sent you!”
